ADR is the agreement governing the transport of dangerous goods — from industrial chemicals to fuels. For a driver it means one thing: an extra certificate that opens the best-paid segment of transport.
The basic course usually costs PLN 1,000–1,500 and takes a weekend; the tanker specialisation is similar. Some carriers fund the training in exchange for a work commitment — with ADR driver shortages this is a common deal.
ADR drivers, especially tanker drivers, earn noticeably more than curtainsider drivers — on international routes ranges can exceed PLN 13,000–16,000 net. There is also stability: fuel and chemicals move regardless of the economic cycle.
If you already hold C+E and want a pay jump without changing profession — ADR is the cheapest investment with the fastest return. Start with the basic course and add the tanker specialisation once you see offers in your region.
